Michael Wees - Director of Photography
Michael Wees has distinguished himself as a cinematographer with an eclectic and extensive resume. He has balanced shooting independent features and shorts with documentary. Michael has collaborated on experimental/art films as well as music videos, dance films, live events, commercial and his fiction work has had festival and theatrical distribution. Most notably he recently shot Hunt Ho’s Seducing Maarya as well as Jean Francois Monette’s Take Out.

Jackie Gallant - Music Composer
Jackie Gallant is a Montreal musician and composer active in dance, film and video. She has worked with choreographers Sarah Williams, Benoît Lachambre Holy Body Tattoo, filmmakers Sandra Dametto and Sara Morley and videographers Anne Golden, Colleen Ayoup and Dayna Mcleod among others.

Sophia Southam - Editor
Since graduating with a BFA from Emily Carr, then she has worked chiefly as a freelance editor and animator for the NFB, Motion International, CBC as well as various independent film and documentary producers in Montreal, Quebec. So Faraway and Blue provided her first opportunity to edit a feature narrative film. She is currently co-directing a highly experimental documentary looking at the nature of politics in the age of globalization.

Phil Hawes - Sound Editor
Phil is a sound editor from Edmonton, Alberta now living in Montreal. His sound editing experience ranges from Kung Fu Foley to vegetable pornography SFX. So Faraway and Blue is his first feature film sound editing credit. He has also directed a short film and an experimental feature video.
